Chaplaincy

Chaplains are people who try to support, encourage and empower students in their Christian lives. They support students of any and no religious background.

Chaplains work in both further education institutions, for example sixth form colleges, and higher education establishments such as universities. In both of these areas chaplains work closely with students, staff and others.

Chaplains are usually appointed by churches, and they can help to put you in touch with churches around your university or college. Chaplains will also be able to help you make contact with other support services if you need them.

You should also find that chaplains will try to offer you a friendly welcome, with a cup of coffee and a listening ear, open to chatting about whatever concerns or interests you.

For details of the chaplains at your university or college, see the listings of local contacts on the Local MSL pages. You can use the form below to search for your institution within the listings.
